Brief Curriculum Vitae of Max Holmes
Max Holmes is Founder and Chief Investment Officer of Plainfield Asset Management LLC. Plainfield launched in 2005 with $150 million in AUM and grew to $5.4 billion in AUM in 2008. From 2002 to 2005, he was the Head of the Distressed Securities Group and a Managing Director of D. E. Shaw & Co.
He previously worked at RBC Capital Markets (part of Royal Bank of Canada), Gleacher NatWest (part of National Westminster Bank), Salomon Brothers and Drexel Burnham Lambert (in Beverly Hills CA). Max Holmes started his career as a practicing attorney with Vinson & Elkins, and remains a member of the NY and TX bar.
He is a graduate of Columbia Law School, Columbia Business School and Harvard College. Since 1993, he has taught “Bankruptcy and Reorganization” at NYU Stern Graduate School of Business, where he is an Adjunct Professor of Finance.
